NBA Lock OUT
NBA Lock OUT Its Official, the NBA lockout began at 9:01 p.m. PDT. It will last until players and owners can agree on a new collective bargaining agreement, one owners demand must give all teams a chance to profit. Owners insisted they were losing money, perhaps $300 million this season, and they weren't interested in subsidizing a system they felt guaranteed they would keep losing more.
The players and the owners held their final meeting at the Omni Berkshire hotel just hours before the scheduled expiration of the current collective bargaining, and could not make enough progress to come up with a new agreement. Spurs player rep Matt Bonner
”We tried to avoid a lockout, but we couldn’t get a deal,”, who was in the meeting, said. “We’re going to keep working at it.”
San Antonio's Matt Bonner, vice president of the NBA Players Association, said after the three-hour meeting that the players and owners "tried to avoid a lockout. Unfortunately we could not reach a deal."
Players, who previously offered to reduce their salaries by $500 million over five years, considered the owners' proposal for a "flex" cap, where each team would be targeted to spend $62 million, a hard cap. Although the league said total player compensation would never dip below $2 billion over the life of its proposed 10-year deal, that would amount to a pay cut for the players, who were paid more than $2.1 billion this season in salaries and benefits.
There was little actual progress made during the three-hour meeting, and no further meetings have been set up. Its NOT the players that are the issue..Bottomline the NBA coaches want that NFL coach money!! They are sick of the high price tag players....they want some MONEY TOO! Are they being greedy?

Serena and Venus William Lose Same Day
Our favorite tennis players Serena and Venus William both lost yesterday.YES-I cant believe it. Both Serena and Venus Williams were eliminated from Wimbledon's singles tournament on Monday, ending a streak of success at the grass event. WOW-thisis the first time since 2006, neither Williams sister will play in the Wimbledon women's final. NOW thats one impressive record!! These girls are still the best in the game. It was a rough day and ISH HAPPENS!!
Moreover, the last time they BOTH lost was back in 2008. On May 30th 2008 to be exact. It was the Grand Slam tournament in the French Open's third round. I know because my Aunt Eula is a tennis fanatic!! HA...You thought I was going to say I was there huh? NOPE!!
Well, unfortunately, the William sisters won't be around for the women's quarterfinals Tuesday, which are: Cibulkova of Slovakia vs. No. 5 Maria Sharapova of Russia; Bartoli of France vs. wild-card entry Sabine Lisicki of Germany; No. 8 Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic vs. Pironkova of Bulgaria; and No. 4 Victoria Azarenka of Belarus vs. Tamira Paszek of Austria.
Another Tennis Fact: It's the first time since 1913 that the last eight women at Wimbledon are from Europe — and, as it happens, eight countries are represented.

Giovanni Ramirez Sentenced To 10 Months For Parole Violation

Giovanni Ramirez, 31, has not been charged in connection with the beating of Bryan Stow. Stow, a 42-year-old paramedic from Northern California, remains hospitalized with brain damage in San Francisco.
Ramirez, who police say is a documented gang member, has at least three prior felony convictions. According to police, he was convicted of attempted robbery in 1998, robbery in 1999 and firing a weapon in a public place in 2005. Ramirez’s attorneys insist their client was not at Dodger Stadium on opening day, but was babysittin his 10-year-old daughter that day.

Los Angeles Dodgers File For Bankruptcy
The Los Angeles Dodgers filed for bankruptcy protection in a Delaware court Monday, blaming Major League Baseball for refusing to approve a multibillion-dollar TV deal that owner Frank McCourt was counting on to keep the troubled franchise afloat. Well I hope NO GROUPIES are stalking the Dodgers becuase THIS news dropped JUST days before Team owner Frank McCourt was expected to miss a team payroll on Thursday and possibly be confronted with an MLB takeover.
Well, baseball commissioner Bud Selig is NOT HAPPY to say the very LEAST! Selig issued a statement condemning Monday's development.
"The Commissioner's Office has spent the better part of one year working with Mr. McCourt and his representatives on the financial situation of the Los Angeles Dodgers, which was caused by Mr. McCourt's excessive debt and his diversion of club assets for his own personal needs. We have consistently communicated to Mr. McCourt that any potential solution to his problems that contemplates mortgaging the future of the Dodgers franchise to the long-term detriment of the club, its loyal fans and the game of Baseball would not be acceptable. "My goal from the outset has been to ensure that the Dodgers are being operated properly now and will be guided appropriately in the future for their millions of fans. To date, the ideas and proposals that I have been asked to consider have not been consistent with the best interests of Baseball. The action taken today by Mr. McCourt does nothing but inflict further harm to this historic franchise."
This fight began two years ago when McCourt and his ex-wife and former team CEO Jamie McCourt decided to divorce!! Can you say DRAMA in Dodgerville!! Well the only thing that would upset me is NOT GETTING PAID? "I WANTS my money!!!" (Vinny Voice)

Terrell Owens Undergoes Surgery
Terrell Owens recently had surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament(ACL). Dr. James Andrews occurred within the past month. Some speculations say Terrell hurt his knee while taping a his show for VH1. Another source said Owens tore the ACL during a personal workout but other sources could not confirm the cause of injury. Nonetheless, this isnt the first knee injury for Terrell, December 2010 remember? Owens' 2010 season for the Cincinnati Bengals came to a hault when he tore his meniscus cartilage in his left knee on Dec. 19 against the Cleveland Browns in week 14. The same surgeon, Dr. Andrews surgically repaired Owens' meniscus on Dec. 20.
Some skeptics are worried because Terrell will be a free agent when the NFL lockout ends -IT DONT MATTER...this is Terrell IF he desires to play-HE WILL!!! YEAH I SAID IT!
